Birthplace of Catullus’ wine

On the southern shores of Lake Garda, in a terrain full of history and considered to be premier cru, stands the ancient Roveglia farmstead. This is the only surviving example in this area of 15th century Lombardy architecture. The surrounding land, hidden under vines, is a terroir whose history goes back 200 million years. It’s the union of the ancient and clayey soil with a native vine that produces an extraordinary wine called Lugana.
